Don't binge drink - be a responsible drinker when you're out and about in Fleet's bars and clubs.

This is the message of a new campaign, running from December 12 to 18.

Hart District Council's Community Safety Team and Hampshire Police will be in Hart Shopping Centre at lunchtimes (noon to 2pm) on December 12, 14 and 16 - to talk to the public.

Licensing and under aged drinking checks will also be carried out on licensed premises, as well as alcohol awareness and safety talks given to school pupils.

Local pubs and bars will also be  assessed for the new Best Bar None initiative.

There will also be increased patrols during the week and partnership work with groups like Pubwatch and Churches Together, who will be organising a community clean up at The Views in Fleet (Saturday December 17 at 2.30pm).

Activities will also include litter picking, removal of abandoned vehicles, health and safety inspections and dog warden patrols.

Let's hope it works. There's always the odd few who sip one too many and let the side down. Don't wish to be a party pooper - but it spoils it for everyone else, and on top of that we don't want people vomiting in our streets.

Have a great time -just keep it real!!!!!
