Congratulations are in order following the end of Day 4, where fellow Poker Stars Pros Salvatore Bonavena came in at 474th place, with $24,808, while Jason Mercier finished in 659th place, with $19,227, and Liv Boeree got to 631st place, securing $19,227.
Mark Demirjian, who won a $700 Passport satellite, used the $13,000 to buy into the Main Event and succeeded in transforming that figure to $30,000. A delighted Mark celebrated his first cash win, having attempted the WSOP three before and lost. The big win wasn’t enough for Demirjian to quite the day job however, despite getting got Vegas at least once a year, he assures: “"If I score big, I score big. Nothing is going to change, I have a fulltime job. I'll still try and make it once a year.”
Zhi Pan and Fabrice Bachellez, PokerStars Main Event Passport winners were also triumphant in finishing in the money. Pan finished in 487th place for $24,808, while Bachellez holds a short stack through to Day 5.
At the beginning of Day 5 at the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event, the PokerStars Team Pros are sitting strong. The unstoppable Vanessa Selbst (1,678,000), Jan Heitmann (788,000), Marcel Luske (603,000), and Daniel Negreanu (302,000) are all in the top 282 players, to sit at the table in the Amazon Room as we begin Saturday’s play.
The PokerStars Pros are keeping up appearances, keen to not let any of their insecurities slip. Negreanu is clearly at most risk, but tweeted: “Started day 4 with 22 bbs. I'll start day 5 with 25 bbs. No big deal. Been here before. I'll be tough to bust. That is all." He then welcomed fans and fellow players to meet with him; “If you are in Vegas I’m at the features table today at Rio which is rail friendly.
