As part of the national Family Week, Farnborough Bowling Club are inviting families to come and have a go at Lawn Bowls. So put on a pair of flat shoes and turn up at the green in Canterbury Road between 2 and 6 PM on the 4th June. We will supply the other equipment (Including special bowls for younger players) and give you some assistance in trying this intriguing game.

Forget your image of Bowls. Bowls is THE SPORT FOR ALL. see article from Northerwrites below
"On Saturday when playing for Yorkshire I will undoubtedly run up the green after a bowl. I will spend most of the game bellowing my thoughts out across the greens for the other 95 bowlers to hear. I will laugh, I will engage in kidology, and with the opponents I know – will spend a fair bit of time in winding each other up. For I know full well that when I play a bad bowl, shout for a team mates bowl to do more – look up to the heavens and ask where it has all gone wrong – there will be someone at the other end of the green ready with a few choice words to cut me down in my tracks. ReportWhat a great idea to attarct young players and new blood. Bowls has an underserved reputation! But only in this country. Other parts of the globe its seen as cool among young people. We need a celeb or rock star going public saying they love bowls....
