Fleet,
Hampshire – 12th October 2011.
Hart Swimming Club's (SC) new head coach, Anthony Julian, this week made a raft
of announcements to propel the club forward during the new swim season. Appointed as head coach in August, Anthony has
wasted no time in putting in place plans to ensure Hart SC achieves greater
success in county, regional and national competitions, whilst retaining its
friendly and sociable ethos and appeal.
Announcements
include:
·
The appointment of
deputy head coach Luke Surplice from Bracknell SC. Now aged 26, Luke swam competitively from the
age of 10 and competed in the Nationals at the age of 13. At 14 he was swimming 50 metres butterfly in
28 seconds. Luke started coaching from
the age of 14
·
The launch of an
intensive recruitment programme to invite swimmers to join Hart SC during
Autumn 2011: if you are at least 5 years old (we have no upper limit – our
oldest current competitive swimmer is over 80 years old) and are interested in
joining a friendly and inspirational swim club, please contact Anthony at Hart
SC to arrange your three, free trial sessions
·
The objective of
growing Hart SC's membership by 50 per cent in two years, which will in turn
enable the club to offer more water time to its swimmers. There are currently 230 members of Hart SC;
approximately 170 are swimmers of all ages, most of whom participate in regular
competitions in the Hampshire & South Coast swimming league
·
The objective of
coaching more local talent to UK national competition; Sarah Tripp, aged 12,
represented Hart SC at the national swimming championships in Sheffield this
summer. Tripp came 7th in the 200m breaststroke final setting a
personal best and club record of 2 minutes 51.28 seconds
