Snow no problem in Fleet

Thankfully as we only got a few inches of the white stuff falling overnight in Fleet, it hasn't caused many problems.

Bus and train services are running as normal.

Police say there haven't been any major accidents. Major routes are open and have all been gritted, and side roads are now turning to mush.

And for all those kids (young and old) who were hoping school (or work) might be closed tomorrow – this doesn't look likely (unless yours is out of the area where snowfall has been much heavier). But Fleet People will check this again later today…

Unless we get more snow in Fleet – and the forecast says this is highly unlikely – it seems its business as usual for us.

But please be careful if you're walking out and about because it is slippy underfoot. And remove all the snow from the top of your vehicle before you drive off. Police say they will issue £60 fines if it has slipped and could cause a visual obstruction.

And if you have elderly neighbours, do check in on them.

In the meantime, just enjoy the snow while you can because it is beginning to thaw.

Remember - the mush and what's left of the snow will no doubt freeze overnight so take extra care in the morning both on the roads and on foot.

Of course, if there are any changes for the worst to the weather, Fleet People will give you a rundown of local services and schools etc…

In the meantime, check out our gallery of snow pictures in Fleet taken this morning.

I bet your photos are much better. Why not upload them and share them with us? It will only take a minute…
