Get ahead with your Christmas shopping with a trip to the Travelling Souk Christmas Fair at Old Basing, Tuesday 8 November, 9.30am-4pm.

The Travelling Souk, known countrywide for its quality gift fairs, was set up in 2003 by Georgiana Pike to showcase the exclusive and unique designs of small, independent producers and raise money for charity.

The Christmas Fair on 8 November is in aid of Basingstoke-based Pelican Cancer Foundation.

The atmospheric 16th century Great Barn at Old Basing will be the setting for 50 stalls offering items from  clothing (for adults and children), jewellery and accessories, to health and beauty products, fine foods and stunning home-ware, plus a range of exciting, unusual and distinctive gifts perfect for Christmas.

Pelican's Lucy Dingwall who has organised the event says, "With a raffle and great prizes, and coffee, brunch and lunch available throughout the day in our cosy café, the Travelling Souk Christmas Fair on 8 November promises to be a fun and enjoyable day, as well as an opportunity to support a really worthwhile cause."

Based at The Ark (next to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Foundation Trust Hospital) Pelican Cancer Foundation works to help save and improve the lives of people with bowel, liver, bladder and prostate cancer through supporting research and education programmes to advance surgery techniques.

Sarah Crane, Pelican CEO, says, "We're really looking forward to seeing people at the Travelling Souk Christmas Fair on 8 November. It's going to be a fantastic day – and we're extremely grateful for the support it will bring to the Foundation."

Tickets for the Christmas Fair are £5 on the door (children free).

The Great Barn is part of the historicBasing House site and worth a visit in itself. There is ample parking – use the postcode RG24 8AE for satnavs.
