I have offered to run a Big Bucket Collection in December for CLIC Sargent and I am hoping to find some help!
The aim is to raise £100,000 for them over 2 days and help raise their profile in our community too.
This December is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and CLIC Sargent is highlighting the cost of cancer and how the public can help us ease the financial pressure on families whose child is diagnosed with cancer.
Money may seem unimportant when a child is diagnosed with cancer, but families caring for a child with cancer often find that their costs go up and their income goes down.
Families have enough to worry about when their child is diagnosed with cancer, without having to worry about money too. That’s why CLIC Sargent offers every family a Care Grant of £170 within 72 hours of diagnosis to help with immediate costs, and can also help families with other expenses.
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people up to the age of 24. It provides clinical, practical, and emotional support to help the whole family cope with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
Their health and social care professionals include nurses, social workers, youth workers and play specialists. The charity also provides financial help to meet extra costs and free accommodation close to specialist cancer centre’s for families and holidays in the UK.
I am looking for willing volunteer’s to help me collect, even if it is just for 30 minutes, on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December at Morrison’s on Elvetham Heath in Fleet. All you need to do is turn up – I will be able to give you everything you need .. all I need is an hour of your time! Any time you could give to help me and CLIC Sargent, would be very much appreciated!

Thank you!
