Jimmy Carr - A Man on the Edge

The Anvil, Basingstoke played host (for alarmingly the thirteenth time) to ubiquitous Channel Four comic Jimmy Carr on Tuesday 8th June.

Jimmy got going with his shotgun-style of joke delivery as soon as he set foot on the stage. As you'd expect the humour was blue, verging on the offensive, and shockingly funny. The audience found themselves chuckling and gasping in equal measure - as they found themselves guilty for laughing at some of the subject matter. Jimmy's celebrated skill was even more impressive when he handled the (albeit invited) heckling with creative put-downs that were super sharp.

A hilarious evening was had at The Anvil, which is a perennially favourite venue. Jimmy even found time to meet and greet everyone after the show in the foyer, a gesture much appreciated by a VERY long queue.

He'll be back here shortly and I will surely be booking tickets early.

Great review Gary- concise and punchy, much like Mr Carr himself! Thanks for taking the time to post it. Now if we can just convince him to do a gig at the Harlington Centre...
