Mother Of Dead Baby Found

The mother of the newborn baby found dead at Fleet station on Wednesday 26th May has come forward and is now receiving treatment.

Hampshire Constabulary issued a press report this morning, stating that the mother, a teenager, had responded to their media appeal.

Detective Superintendent Jason Hogg, from the Major Crime department, said: “This is an extremely difficult case for everyone involved and we would ask people to respect this family’s privacy as they come to terms with what has happened.”

According to the press release detectives are now piecing together just what happened to the infant victim, who had suffered 'substantial injuries'.
