Underserved public transport users in Fleet, Church Crookham and Elvetham Heath are now able to use a new bus service to travel around the local area.

Operating from Monday to Saturday every week, the Fleet Link is designed to help those with mobility issues and people who live in areas of the community that are not served by conventional bus routes.

Replacing the Call and Go service, the Fleet Link is usually able to pick passengers up from their doorstep and deliver them back again. The service also provides trips into Farnborough on Tuesdays and Camberley on Wednesdays to coincide with local markets.

Fleet Link is funded jointly by Hampshire County Council and the new Fleet Town Council and Church Crookham Parish Council.

“We welcome the opportunity to play our role in supporting this service which we know will be valued by many people, particularly those in outlying, more rural areas,” said George Woods of Fleet Town Council.

“The service will make it easier for people to do some of the regular things, like shopping, that so many of us take for granted. Fleet Link will also help people to maintain their independence. We would really encourage local people to take full advantage of this service.”

To use the Fleet Link, passengers must book at least a day in advance by calling 0845 602 4135. More information about the service is also available from this number.
