 While some parts of the UK suffered blizzards, Fleet escaped with only a few inches

  • In the town centre most of this had been trampled away by 9am the following day thanks to the feet of Saturday night revellers
  • Gurkha Square carpark was a little deeper, but not by much
  • It's already beginning to melt :-(
  • A small slippery walk away heading up to The Views...
  • Where the snow is deeper...
  • As you can see - the height of my foot...
  • Much more solid and makes that lovely crispy sound when you step on it.
  • Welcome to The Views - sledge world!
  • Packed with children and families
  • Gotta have a snowball fight
  • You're never too young to play on a sledge
  • Weee!
  • Or never too old either
  • Race ya!!!!
  • Not the happiest looking snowman but a snowman nonetheless
  • Mmmm. I have to stiffle the urge to jump on and have a go myself
  • While main roads in Fleet are clear, some side roads are still relatively untouched and remain picture perfect
  • Over at Fleet Pond...
  • Parts of it are frozen
  • Paths around Fleet Pond are gritted
  • A spot where in the summer you'd be happy to sit....
  • But perhaps not today. Brrrrrrr!
  • Even though the Pond is still spectacular
  • Over at the Velmead canal bridge...
  • This stretch of the Basingstoke Canal running through Fleet...
  • ....picture perfect...
  • .....and frozen...
  • ....things that usually float are trapped in the ice
  • The day before it snowed the Canal was already beginning to freeze over at this spot
  • The poor old ducks were skating on the ice and converging on the small pockets of water
  • So pretty
  • Men NOT at work....
  • Snow covered roadworks at Pondtail
